One week left of the regular season and of course the Cards play the 2 best teams in the NL. I don't expect them to catch either team but i'm confident they can hang on to the 2nd wild card spot and from there anything can happen. 

Also I think it's time we hand the NL Cy Young to DeGrom.

I love looking at old stats like these. Could you imagine having an ERA under 2 and only winning 8 games in a season in today's game. What DeGrom has done this year is outstanding and his lack of offensive support may be even more historic.

I was looking for deGrom run support stats and found this nugget.

Coming into today, deGrom had won 9 games.  His Wins Above Replacement is 9.6.  So a replacement-level pitcher wouldn't have been expected to win any games this year with the run support deGrom got.
