I’ve lived in Colorado for the majority of my life. I’ve also lived for 4 years in Nebraska (high school during the 90s when I found my love for college football, Thanks Nebraska!), 4 years in Texas (military), and 10 in Utah (post military job working for department of the army) before moving back to Colorado.
Just like most places in the world, the vast majority of people are good people in Colorado. The majority of buffs fans are good people, but there are a few sCUm bags. You see it in the fans of all sports teams. However, I see it much more with CU, Kansas and Texas fans than I ever did with Nebraska fans. Granted, my cousin (from Missouri) got his car keyed in Lincoln when he came for a Huskers/Mizzou game in 2008.
There is a chance you’ll get your car keyed. There is a chance that someone might slash your tires. There is a chance that you’ll get a broken window... but they are extremely small. This stuff happens everywhere. However, the stories in here claiming that people in Boulder wouldn’t help them, or “tire stores wouldn’t fix their tires because they are from Nebraska” are total horse crap. Most of the people that own businesses in Boulder aren’t even from Colorado and have literally zero stake in this “rivalry”. Some of these claims are so fictional, it’s just ridiculous.
:rollin
They tell the same lies in Colorado about Nebraska fans, just so you know. It’s just as ridiculous. Just remember that a small portion of their fans think, because of Lawerence Phillips, everyone in Nebraska is okay with beating up women. “It’s just got to be part of their culture.” I’ve heard it from a couple ignorant people before. Don’t be the ignorant Nebraska fan.
