2021 Season Notes

Northern Colorado has had a series scheduled and canceled already, and the Big Ten still can’t release a schedule. UNC plays in the WAC, which apparently that’s how the Big Ten leaders want to approach baseball for its members. 

Baseball starts this week and we don't have a schedule.

Word is four games vs. Purdue in Round Rock starting March 5.

Then in the dome in Minneapolis the second weekend.

I'll believe it when they actually throw a first pitch.. Knowing the B1G's position on spring sports.. I can see them changing their schedules multiple times.

I have heard the same about Round Rock and Minneapolis.  All B1G teams know their schedule, but for some unknown reason (incompetence?) the schedules are not available to the public.

I'll give the B1G credit here, they've been terrible - but they've been CONSISTENTLY terrible. 

Given the time they've had to prep for sports like softball, vball, and baseball - those numbers are truly pathetic.

Hallmark will be in CF, Anderson at 3B, Schwellenbach at SS, and Matthews at 2B. Apparently a battle at 1B but I'd expect Banjoff to win that. Chick will DH and Everitt at C but I'd expect Roskum will get a far amount of games as well at C and DH. I'd also expect Acker and Mojo to round out the OF corner spots. 

Starting rotation looking like Povich, Hroch, Shanaman and Bunz as game 4 starter.

So after 4 games we have 46 team strikeouts. 15 for Friday's game, 8 for game 1 on Saturday, 7 for game 2 on Saturday, 16 on Sunday.

A lot of strikeouts, hopefully we can get it worked on as the season goes on. Comes with being aggress though. Might need to dive in to see how many swinging/looking.

Best part about this year, is everyone playing everyone. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

Also of note, as of right now Indiana has the highest RPI at 55.
