This location still seems so odd.  Would have been better off just having the game at soldier field or Wrigley.  Oh well...at least the Sker don't lose a home game.

If my recollection is right, didn't NW play Duke in a game at Wrigley where it was half a field, and both offenses went one direction only?  Or was that Yankee stadium... Something like that

I think it was NW vs Illini???  And yes...they only went one way!

Only one end zone will be used for offense Saturday at Wrigley Field for the Illinois-Northwestern game because of safety concerns, the Big Ten announced Friday, and the Chicago Cubs said the decision caught them by surprise.

NCAA rules state the field dimensions must have adequate space surrounding the playing surface: "Limit lines shall be marked ... 12 feet outside the sidelines and the end lines, except in stadiums where total field surface does not permit. In these stadiums, the limit lines shall not be less than 6 feet from the sidelines and end lines."

Wrigley's east end zone is a few feet away from the right-field wall, and although there is padding, there were concerns players could be injured there.

Thank you mav..  teach was right...  I don't know why I keep thinking Duke played in that game. Playing illinois at Wrigley makes more sense.

Maybe NW played Duke in the pinstripe bowl at Yankee Stadium and I got all the ingredients confused lol

Yes.  If we were playing there this year, it would be a normal sized field because they remodeled the grandstands with some removable seats to accommodate a full length field.

Part of the band is, like 48 members. Do something pre-game and a halftime performance. And I can't remember where I read that.
