Wisconsin just got their THIRD portal QB.  And also signed a HS QB.

Tanner Mordecai from SMU - 6th year, threw for 7500 yards and 70 TDs last 2 years at SMU

Nick Evers from OU - RFr, 4* in class of 2022, #8 ranked QB

Braedyn Locke from Miss St - RFr, 3* in class of 2022, #22 ranked QB

Cole LaCrue - 3* in class of 2023, #51 ranked QB

Yeah, we should probably stop telling QB's that if they commit we won't take another one. That's some nice depth.

It is an impressive haul in a short time, but none of them outside of Mordecai have done anything yet. You can make our QB room look somewhat impressive to an outsider too:

Thompson - 4500 yards and 41 TDs last 2 years at P5 schools, not in the AAC

Purdy - 4* class of 2020 #13 QB (#7 dual threat)

Sims - 4*, 4500 yards and 30 TDs passing, 1100 yards and 11 TDs rushing last 3 years in the ACC

Smothers - 4* class of 2020 #26 QB (14 dual threat)

Haarberg/Torres - on par with LaCrue (#41 and #61 ranked QB in their classes respectively)

Mordecai has good numbers, but we'll have to see how they translate to the big ten with an uninspiring WR corps. Evers was a step up from our 4* guys as a recruit, but is totally unproven. So an upside edge there, but way more experience in our room - at least until some guys transfer.

They're not getting Evers, Mordecai or Williams without putting the ball in the air much more than they have. Sure they'll still be run oriented but they'll be easier to prepare for because they'll be more like everyone else.
