2023 Husker Football Schedule

Nebraska draws Michigan again, this time at home, and Michigan State on the road.

Iowa draws at Penn State and home for Michigan State. They dodge Michigan and Ohio State.

Since Nebraska joined the Big 10, the Huskers have played Ohio State eight times.

Iowa has played the Bucks just three times.

How is this fair at all?

It's all about the money. The B1G makes more money when the Huskers play the top crossover teams. Everyone knew this going into the B1G.

I said Iowa dodged MIchigan and Ohio State. I meant to say just Ohio State, but if you go back, they've probably been doing a fair amount of dodging Michigan too. They play the heck out of Maryland, Rutgers and Indiana. LOL

C'mon Michigan.  East Carolina, UNLV, and Bowling Green in the non-conference?
Current FEI Rankings for non-conference opponents:

Nebraska                  Michigan

Colorado - 121        East Carolina - 47

NIU - 103                  UNLV - 106

La. Tech - 114         Bowling Green - 111

Pretty similar, but they do have a legitimately decent opponent and we don't. You can argue Colorado should have been the best team on either schedule when these were put on the calendars, but right now we have the easier non-conference schedule.

Still lost to Colorado twice, three and four years ago. Thanks Frost!

I think exactly the same venue, date and home/away with the "old" schedule to a new release schedule

  • Minnesota, Colorado, N.Illinois, La.Tech, Illinois, Maryland and Iowa

Minor change

  • Michigan ..... new date: from October 14 to September 30. Same home/away.
  • Northwestern .... new date: from September 30 to October 21. Same home/away.
  • Michigan State ..... new date: from November 18 to November 4. Same home/away.
  • Purdue .... new date and venue: from November 4 to October 28. Now home venue ... used to be away
  • Wisconsin .... new date and venue: from October 21 to November 18. Now away venue ... used to be home

And change bye-week from October 28 to October 14
