2024/25 Outlook

Mannn..... this was an awesome introductory to Andrew Morgan.  Makes me believe he will be that strong grinder when you need it, and can also score down low.  6'10 ??  Awesome.

You add guys like Essegian, Griffiths, Buuyktyenuncel (spelling), Morgan, Uhls, and the other transfers, plus Gary and Williams.... and a sharp shooting lefty freshmen (Jankowiski, etc)..... this should be an exciting team to watch and grow and compete together.

I am so pumped but I will be patient some too.

ESPN's most recent bracketology has 10 B1G teams in the field.  Nebraska is not one of them - they are listed as the third team out.

There are a ton of B1G bubble teams.  Rutgers is in the "last 4 byes" group, Oregon & Maryland are in "last 4 in", Nebraska is in "first 4 out" and USC, Iowa & Wisconsin are in "next 4 out".

That means:

7 teams solidly in (Purdue 4 seed, Indiana 5, UCLA 6, Illinois 7, Michigan St 7, Michigan 8, Ohio St 8)

7 bubble teams (Rutgers 10, Oregon 11, Maryland 11, Nebraska, USC, Iowa, Wisconsin)

4 teams solidly out (Washington, Northwestern, Minnesota, Penn St)

I'm not sure why this is important right now, and I don't think anyone has a good hold on what the 2024 Huskers have.

Because we have a turnover roster with a lot of transfer players and only a few key guys back from last year's wonderful season.

There is no telling how they will do if the bracketology people don't follow Husker basketball closely.

So it's fine by me if they are under the radar concerning the future ratings and predictions.

Personally, I think we have a better team because we have better players and better shooters on the team.  We have guard depth and inside depth with all things considered.  Just have to see how it unfolds.

Bracketology isn't really important until February, but thought it was interesting that over 3/4 of the teams in the conference are at least considered bubble teams before the season starts.

Oh for sure.  Totally agree.  And I was directing my thoughts toward Bracketology doing this stuff, and not at you per say.   :thumbs

I am not at all knowledgeable when it comes to pumpkin ball. I know the basics but not much more. Do you think this team will be better then last years or about even keel?

Hard to say at this point.  I think replacing Keisei will be hard.  They brought in some good shooters, but very few players can get hot like him.

They should be better defensively in the post because Meah is a shot blocker.

They will have two true point guards (Ulis, Worster), so that should help initiate offence when needed.  They try to play positionless ball, but sometimes you need a true point guard to calm the game down.

I think they brought in better players than they lost, but it will depend on how they mesh as a team.  Last year's team wasn't always the most talented team, but they won games because they were a team.  This team is marginally more talented, but if they don't play as a team it won't matter.

Got the Lindy's preview today (aka the last of the college b-ball mags left...?), and the Huskers are preseason #13 in the B10.
