2024 Fall Camp Notes - Special Teams

If the NFL is successful this year with the new Kickoff rule, we will likely see College Football switch to it next season.  Or within 1-2 years.

And I'm fine with that.  Kickoffs the go out of the endzone is a wasted play.  Especially if both sides combine for 10 kickoffs a game.

Ughh, its just a wasted play to get to another 1 1/2 minutes of commercials/advertising.
I say just get rid of the kickoff altogether.  Put the ball on the 25/30/wherever agreed upon and start the drive there, IF this is really about safety.  That is the most dangerous play in the game.  Have one commercial break after the TD, then start the next drive.  It would speed up the game probably 15 plus minutes also.

I mean, that it good to know.  It's like almost his job to do that, but here we are in his 3rd season.

I won't dog him if he can get some hang time for once.  No hang time means returners can catch and go.

Also, some consistency would go a long way.

And finally, his booming 52 yard punts are 50 yards away from the end zone.

His 26 yard punts are when we are punting from our own 15 yard line.

He can't flip the field...  and he doesn't pin the ball around the 10 yard line when he needs to kick it just 28 yards.

That's it in a nutshell.  That's how it's always been.  Hope he can become consistent and be a better punter.  That would be a great dream coming true.
