I say just get rid of the kickoff altogether. Put the ball on the 25/30/wherever agreed upon and start the drive there, IF this is really about safety. That is the most dangerous play in the game. Have one commercial break after the TD, then start the next drive. It would speed up the game probably 15 plus minutes also.If the NFL is successful this year with the new Kickoff rule, we will likely see College Football switch to it next season. Or within 1-2 years.
And I'm fine with that. Kickoffs the go out of the endzone is a wasted play. Especially if both sides combine for 10 kickoffs a game.
Ughh, its just a wasted play to get to another 1 1/2 minutes of commercials/advertising.
