2024 Paris Olympics

South Sudan has the population of Michigan, it's only 12 years old and it's just coming out of a civil war. There is hardly any basketball infrastructure in the county, and its Olympic team has so few resources that one of it's NBA players is paying for much of Paris out of his pocket.

I'm watching them play one of the best NBA rosters ever assembled, and they totally deserve to be on the court. They play a very good game.

And the Lakers funded majority of the South Sudan basketball program, funneling the money through Loul Deng.

Crazy race.  Closest 100 meters I remember anywhere.  0.12 seconds between 1st and 8th and it was only that much because the guy in 8th quit early.

If Lyles could ever get a great start he could challenge the world record.

Yeah, I didn't think anyone would be anywhere near that for a long time.

But if he had a decent start, he'd easily be 9.6-something.  People laughed at him when he said he wants to run 9.65.  I even thought that was pretty lofty.  After seeing that race, I don't anymore.  (Granted, there's still a long ways from 9.65 to 9.58.)
