People keep referencing Indiana and Curt Cig...... he brought a ton of guys from James Madison. Not sure you (not you specifically) can ask for what Indiana has and complain about the "size" of school your transfers come from. I have said for years, a handful of South Dakota State players are BETTER than the kids we have and they are FCS. Hell, I would take Chase Mason tomorrow if he entered the portal.

I graduated from SDSU in 1978 - while good as a Div 2 back then, I never thought our players could be compared to or hold a candle to any Nebraska players. It is amazing the direction the 2 programs have taken.

Not sure what will happen in D-2. There has been some who are jumping to D-1 and dropping some Olympic sports.

Here's a breakdown by division, using data from around the 2025 season:
Division I (Football Bowl Subdivision - FBS)

• ~136 teams: The highest level, featuring major conferences and bowl games.

Division I (Football Championship Subdivision - FCS)

• ~124+ teams: The other half of D1 football, with a playoff system.

Division II

• ~161 programs: A significant number of schools, though fewer than D1 or D3.

Division III

• ~250+ teams: The largest NCAA division by number of schools and participants, focusing on academics.

Remember the Huskers offering Faulk as a DB...? I feel like the margins are always less expansive than fans think, coach 'em up... though yeah being able to choose to not offer a player as good as MF at RB, those are definitely days gone by!! Gotta find a way to turn this program around.

I'm assuming since it opened yesterday guys could start signing. Can't imagine that there's a lot of back and forth negotiations. Figured most of this would have been done "before". Who knows. It's a different beast now.
