2025-2026 Portal Updates

What makes this hard to "accept" or "comprehend" is that Rhule talked about being competitive in the NIL space....Extension was given and included funds to "compete in the NIL space" and we are sitting at 30....Hoping we are saving our money the back half of the open season. No idea how much we've spent...

Well given we had a small high school class for 2026 I am anticipating more portal additions which should increase our ranking. I honestly would rather have a higher portal ranking with experienced players than high school recruiting class.

You guys get so caught up in numbers. We had THE youngest team in the B1G. We have had very few people leave so we aren't going to have a large number of additions. We are doing great in the portal for our positions of need. Relax.
My only issue with this is that having the youngest team in the B1G is only valuable if you believe that Rhule is a great talent developer, and the team has a cohesive identity on both offense and defense schematically that Rhule is developing those young players to.

I'm fairly doubtful that Rhule is very good at developing players so far at Nebraska, while a major team issue is a lack of identity on offense. We're also trying to work in our 3rd D-Coordinator in 4 years along with numerous other position coaches.

I personally hoped we'd see a much bigger exodus of players to make a bigger splash in the portal. They've done an okay job so far, and I think the pickup by a JUCO All-American DL is an excellent pickup, but we certainly do need several more pieces in the portal to feel good about Nebraska's bowl chances next season.

So to sum this up, it doesn't matter what we do in the portal, you just don't like our coaching staff so you aren't going to be happy. Got it.

Indy is short for Indianapolis in IN. Better to just say IU. Correct and less letters
Good point.

And SE Chicago is short for Gary 😆

i wonder what our rating would be if dylan came back? losing someone rated as high as him will skew our rating downward for sure.

Dylan is not a 5* anymore. The services have seen what he can actually do as a college QB and revised accordingly. On 247, he's only slightly higher rated than Brendan Black, the highest rated guy we're bringing in so far.
