A freshman came in and blocked the middle. Disappointing all around, but they still almost won because of BA willing it.

DBK will be an even better coach when she gets a group motivated like those who played in last years championship game.

Sometimes top national players struggle and then can find a way to kick it into gear when it matters most. Last season Harper was having a very poor match in the playoffs and found her stride late in the 4th set. I would have at least given Andi a chance in the 5th set unless she was hurt.

I know their setter was out but Wisconsin still beat some good teams while she was out. I am glad at least one BIG made the FF but am still pulling for Pitt to win it all.

What? If you play people struggling you may lose.

Coaches play the best producers at the right time.

If they pull these awesome players and win one set, those awesome players play the next set and may win a ring.

We need players that want that ring more than anything.

These current Nebraska players are really good. DBK will make them hungry.
 
1000 salutes to the Nebraska team. They played their hearts out. To come from behind in the 4th and hold on to finally win the 4th was amazing. Pretty hard to come away from that roller coaster and win the 5th. Very disappointing that they didn’t win the whole thing but they will be back next year. I’m very impressed by the coach. Cook left the team in very good hands.

Imagine sitting Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant in the closing minutes of an NBA game because they had missed several shots earlier in the game. I am not saying Jackson is the same as those NBA players, but she has had one of the best seasons for a Husker hitter in a long time. Without her Nebraska does not have the season it had. She earned the right to play that 5th set.

And I am all for pulling players for stretches at a time if they are struggling, but in a season-ending situation I am riding the top player(s) that got me to that point in the season. I would have rather lost with Jackson on the court in the 5th set than to see her sitting on the bench the entire 5th set.

Her coach, who works with her every day, and wanted to get back to the national championship game she coached in last year disagreed with your assessment.
 
I get being disappointed. Play the game next week we probably go 3-0 against A&M. It didn't happen tonight.

They fought to a 2 point loss on the worst game of the season.

I watched them fight back with new players and credit the coach and players for doing whatever they could to get to 5. I thought for sure they were 3 and out.

HM was great for BA in the press conference. It shows how much she has matured.

And most fans disagreed with DBK's assessment to sit a national player of the year candidate for an entire set. She was entitled to her decision and fans are entitled to question it. That's how sports and fan forums work.

Yep, but she was playing bad. Maybe she wakes up set 5. Maybe she wakes up in the final 4 if they make it there.

If a schuck like me could see it, I'm not surprised the coach of the year couldn't pick up on it.
