2025 Polls and Rankings

It is so funny that Iowa fans are DYING to get Bret to be their next coach but he pretty much signed a contract that would make it almost impossible for him to ever go to Iowa.

And 10 wins in the Big Ten will get you into the playoff some years.
Going forward, 10 wins in the Big Ten is as close to a lock as you can be for the playoffs. We get 4 teams in and it is going to be extremely rare to have more than 4 with 10 wins.

2024 - 5 teams with 10+ wins. All but 1 in the playoff
2023 - 3 teams with 10+ wins
2022 - 3 teams with 10+ wins
2021 - 3 teams with 10+ wins
2020 - doesn't count due to Covid
2019 - 2 teams with 10+ wins
2018 - 2 teams with 10+ wins

I’m still not sold on Illinois. A solid team perhaps, but not a playoff team. It took a lot of incompetence from our team last year to lose to them.

And we had the lead on the eventual National Champions with 6 minutes left in the 4th... Not saying Illinois is great but the gap between teams is so much smaller than it has ever been.

Have you looked at Bert's schedule? Pretty easy to see them winning 10 games. They get their only top tier opponents, USC and Ohio State, at home. The other 10 games will be coin flips at worst for them.
