I suspect that Mingey was viewed as a little more... predictable than Colandrea.
From what I've heard about Colandrea, he's exciting but inconsistent. The kind of feast-or-famine wild ride we ain't seen since T-Mart. A speedy sandlot football kinda guy that's practically the opposite of the cerebral statue Raiola.
It could be a number of factors. Nobody knows exactly when all of the discussions started. But, we do know that we have a staff to evaluate and work on transfers long before the portal opens. We had been talking with the ND QBs team for quite a while. It's possible that Colandrea showed no interest in the portal or to us at that time. So, the discussions progressed with Minchey (sp?).I just wanna ask……why the heck was Munchy or whatever his name was a pick over this guy??? Blows my mind! A career back up vs a 3 year starter that reminds you of Johnny Football with the way he can run it!
Some news outlets are saying he signed on his visit.I'll believe it when he's signed.

i believe we decided to spend our $$$ on new lines instead of dumping so much into the QB. not sure what we offered colandrea but we had munchkin for $1,250,000 until he found a $3 mil offer.I just wanna ask……why the heck was Munchy or whatever his name was a pick over this guy???
