This has been going on for a while. They were hit with involuntary chapter 11 a couple months back after failing to pay a judgement. 247 was the only interested from the reports I saw and they picked scout up for very cheap...

They forced Heckman (CEO, original founder) out last year and he started a competing company then poached most of the top talent from Scout. It sounds like Scout Media has been gutted and CBS is only interested in cherry-picking the team publisher contracts and a name for another sub-network (mobile app & website channels). It will probably be a named property but backed by the 247 site data/staff. It doesn't sound like CBS wants anything more than that. Heckman originally founded Rivals.com as well...

Surely you can't have a composite ranking with Scout. It'd be an average of 247 and rivals and whatever ESPN gets from their interns that cover recruiting.

Either they get removed from the composite ranking, they stay and 247 data gets counted twice, or somebody else steps in to fill the void. It's not exactly clear what Heckman's new venture entails but it doesn't sound like a direct competitor to Scout or Rivals...

It would appear that all Scout profile links are now redirecting to the 247 profile.
