300 Workout

Okay so I've been thinking about this for awhile and I'm really tired of just plain old lifting weights so I'm going to try the 300 workout today from the movie 300.

25 pull-ups

50 135lb deadlifts

50 push-ups

50 24inch box jumps

50 floor wipers (135 lb barbell)

50 clean and presses with a 35 lb dumbell

25 pull-ups

No rest in between either. I think I'm going to add 30 minutes of cardio at the end as well. I'll let everyone know how it is after I get done. If I don't post again it's because I died!!!!

In that order? With no rest bro, your arms wont support you after those deadlifts. Good luck and dont cheese out! Make a program, stick to the program.

I need to see that movie.

Just got back and holy god!!!!! It feels like the gates of hell are opening inside my body!!!! I couldn't do all the reps in a row I HAD to split it up into sets since it's the first time I did it. I'm just blasted right now. This workout is centered around toning you up instead of making you huge. I have been doing powerlifts for about 6 months now and I thought I was strong and this workout lets you know that there is no way you are as strong as you think you are. :thumbs

hahah, i knew you'd be exhausted. That workout is insane. I'm guessing you've seen the behind the scenes video of the actors working out? I think they said the key is that you never do the same workout twice...never let your body adapt. That and the insane amount of reps.

There is no way you can do it everyday. At the most you could do it every other day, but you would probably be on the verge of overtraining. It doesn't say on any of the websites how many times you do it. :dunno

that's what I figured. If anything it sounds like it needs to be treated as a weekly/monthly max out. Watching the video I think they said that the actual 300 workout was used at the end of the entire training months. Sort of a "final exam"

Whatr:

box jumps???

floor wipers???

Seems like I've done the rest with about twice the weight..Gets my heart beating like a Hummingbirdand the room spinning. :madash

Doubt I could do more than 5 pull ups though.

With box jumps you have a 24 inch high box in front of you and you do 50 jumps up on top of the box and then back off.

Floor wipers are where you are either laying flat on the ground or on a flat bench and you have 135 lbs on the barbell. You lift the barbell off of the bench and hold it in the air while you take both of your legs together and swing them to the side attempting to tough the plates on either side of the bar. You say you are using double that weight, but are you doing the 50 reps in a row without rest???

Your exactly right there benny they did use this as a final test of sorts however, only one actor was willing to attempt it. I used it as a assessment to see where I was at and I am going to start doing this workout called crossfit. It is based off of the same principles only the workouts are high intensity/circuit traning workouts. It gets your heartrate up and gives you a cardio type of workout while sastisfying my need to lift weights at the same time. It's different checkout crossfit.com for the workouts. :thumbs
