what has happened to the running game? have we gone from one deminsional running to one deminsional passing?

Against KU, we had a few runs that were decently blocked at the point of attack. However, there wasn't much "2nd tier" blocking. The rest of the plays were awful with regard to blocking.

LB's were the strength of the KU defense.

Here's a topic worth discussing. There is so serious problems here with the players. He had a solid run game last year, but now the play is diminishing quickly.

Maybe because it is the Truth. LOL

Can't be. Anyone with two eye's knows Callahan and Co were out there themselves knocking over our blockers so the KU LB's could get in there.

I thought you didn't watch that show, Benard? Or do you watch it just so you can gather more cannon fodder?

It's dimensional, not deminsional.

I read on another board from an "expert" that the problem is "the players aren't executing".

Duh!

My opinion is probably just as dumb. I suspect that running the WCO with a team built for an option offense just ain't goin' to work.

Until the "right" players are in place we are in for a roller coaster ride. :bang

I don't get it. I don't get why we can't block a simply isolation play with consistency and power. You don't get much simpler than that. Block the guy infront of you.

I thought a picture in Sunday's paper tells the whole story. Seppo, flat on his back, Ross trying to high step over him. How the hell does a 6'5" 330 lb tackle who is supposedly the strongest on the team, get knocked flat on his a$$ by someone that is smaller and not as strong as him? Seriously, what the hell? The O-line play has been abysmal. Teams know that we can't run the ball and they are teeing off on Taylor. It's getting ugly.

To me all of our running plays look the same. I think good running teams can keep you off balance even if the opponent knows that they're going to run the ball. An example is Minnesota, everyone knows their going to run at you but you have no idea where it's going to come from because they have some great running plays. Can anyone explain why it appears that we only have about 5 run plays in this 5000 page playbook?

because running is and always will be an after thought in the WCO...especially with Cally, "cause we take what I want"

the guy that knocked Seppo on his a$$ probably has a coach who taught him the technique ;)

Yeah, it all comes down to technique and he must not have had very good technique on that one.
