Nebraska Athletic Director Steve Pederson said Thursday that Husker officials have determined a new seating capacity for Memorial Stadium. The new figure beginning with next week’s game against Louisiana Tech will be 81,067.

The previous capacity was 73,918, however with the addition of new seating in the North Stadium, new handicapped and mobility impaired seating and new suites in the North end zone, capacity has risen to more than 81,000.

 
We better look out, with this being the 3rd largest population in nebraska on game day Walmart will want to build a store there. :clap

 
Can't wait to hear those 81,067 fans screaming for the Huskers next weekend!!!!!

I wonder how much more people will be there though. The seating capacity for it last year was 73,000, but we got 77,000 and sometimes 78,000. Could we see 85-86k?

 
Anyone know how that ranks compared to other major programs? I wonder what the colleseum holds. Cally had better have the team looking real good this year. I don't think Mr. Peterson would survive if the consecutive sell out streak fell. Mr. P would drop the boy in a heartbeat if that happened................then again so would I.

 
I dont think we have to worry about the sell out streak.

When we added the extra 6000 seats we got orders for

around 15000.

 
I guess we'll have to wait for the official tally on Sept 2. I can't wait to hear how much louder it's going to be this year!!
