7 point favorites against NW

I think we lost to Northwestern last year because of 2 things ) 1 it was a trap game, we obviously have way more talent, and we had just came off of a big win and the next week after Northwestern was against another big named opponent. 2) We over-looked them because of Michigan and all the hype they were getting last year I would venture to say that our players and coaches over-looked little ol Northwestern.

And honestly I think we were out coached last year, and I'm not saying that I hate Bo and he needs to go. I think he has done and good job and will only get better in time. But imo Northwestern has the best coach in the BIG (except maybe Meyer) and that he always finds ways to win against teams he shouldnt

I don't think anyone is giving enough credit to the players we faced last year. The mixture of Colter and Persa, is just a nightmare to any team. Persa being the best passer in NCAA along with a speedy QB to throw everyone off, is a lot to come by. They run a different scheme than anyone else in the league. They do this year too, but with them running two QB's, it will eventually bite them in the butt, as it did when they played PSU. PSU exploited them in their upset game, and I expect Nebraska to do the same. When Colter is in, expect a QB who is going to scramble for some yards, so press the box and make sure we protect the outside corners, as he is not a down the middle runner. When he is out, we need to bring pressure and a lot of it, because Semen is dangerous in the pocket. I have no doubt our DB's will cover, but the Safties need to make sure they do their job, cover and execute. No more missed assignments. Tackle, tackle tackle, especially when we are in the backfield.

We lost to Northwestern last year because our offense played extremely poorly in the first half and pretty much wasted a nice 1st half defensive effort. The offense had a chance to put up 28-35 points against a mediocre at best NW defense in the 1st half last year and have the game in hand at half. Then the second half came around and the defense struggles and the offense can only get points in cleanup time. Very eery feeling all day.

The line has already dipped to -4. I stand by my -3.5 by game time and I'll guess the over under opens at 63.5.

Is Kain capable of playing the whole game at QB or does NW need him at receiver too?
I'd be really surprised if he didn't take the vast majority of the snaps at QB against us. Siemian really struggled against Minnesota. He was 1-for-7 passing, or something like that. Given his struggles, and our struggles against running QBs, it's a no-brainer for Northwestern.

I think the D will step up I'm going with 27 41 us. The D has been ugly but what I hope is that they tighten up w/out shirking on the aggressive play up front they were doing good on TFL's and Sacks. I hope to see a healthy burkhead continuing to dominate when he is in the game.

I got NU in a rout....and I am sipping a ton a kool-aid this week....I'm all in. Bo gets the defense fixed....we turn it around this week and make a statement.

This game cannot come soon enough. This bye week has sucked...

It's interesting that the pollsters have NW ahead of us yet we're expected to win by the bookies. It will be an interesting game but even folks from NW don't think they can win this game. THAT is really interesting.

I don't know I think this stuff happens every year. Usually there are a couple teams in the top ten by this point that will totally fall off. Personally I think it is due to the fact most of the ball that has been played hasn't been conference play just yet.
