80 yd 4th Qtr Drive

I don't know but those long physical drives have been almost on cue.

not the third week in a row... But we have had a lot.

Rex definitely had some of the freshest legs on the team today.

Looking over the stats, we had a 79-yarder vs. Kansas and a few 77- and 78- yarders that ended up in FGs. It was the longest TD drive vs. BCS competition.

You're right - Burkhead looked great. And it WAS exactly what we needed at just the right time.

Nice to see people being dragged along by an NU RB.

I loved seeing it.

I would also like to see more play action off our run game(that we seem to fall in and out of).
I think at this point our run game really isn't good enough to warrant a strong play action passing attack. We only put together 217 total yards yesterday. Fairly upsetting against a fiery yet statistically crappy defense.

All I know is that at some point I really think Lee needs to get his training wheels taken back off. Even the most heavy of run teams give their quarterbacks opportunities to make big time plays with their arm. I don't understand why with less than a minute left in the first half, the only pass play we run is a play action deep ball to Niles Paul that was extremely predictable.

I know this team appeared to struggle with the offensive philosophy early on, but there has to something left over that these kids were good at before the overhaul, especially in the passing game. We will have no chances to beat Texas playing like we did collectively yesterday.

Absolutely agree with this. I have been going flipping crazy over this the last few weeks. It seems like any time we get up by two scores, Wats goes away from what works and starts running his offense again, and that will not work with these players. That has been proven time and time again.

What you finally saw was flashes of an offensive line that finally decided to 'nut up'. When they cut up the stupid penalties and mental mistakes, they can be good. Unfortunately, you have guys like Ricky Henry, Marcel Jones and DJ Jones who are just not that smart.

I mean, how many times this year have we seen the offense finally get rolling only to have the line back us up with a holding penalty or an untimely false start penalty? Or heck, Ricky Henry and his weekly personal foul penalty?

Fact is our offense is centered around being 'on time'. We cannot get to 3rd and long, or even 2nd and long, then expect our offense to bail us out. Not many offenses can do well like that, and ESPECIALLY not ours.

Still have nightmares about VA Tech.

We need this to continue because when we get ahead we need to start eating up the clock. With our offense they need to stick with what works and give the defense a break every now and again. It's only a matter of time before keeping the defense out there for 45 minutes of the game is going to come back to bite us in the arse.

Need to mix in a counter, I am still waiting for the halfback pass, because Burkhead threw alot in high school

Are you saying the Power I is Watson's offense? He did a good job hiding it with all the shotgun we've been running these last few years.
