9-3 starting to look real

VT is winnable and so is Kansas. I havent been impressed with Kansas yet(Last year or this year) so I think that game is very winnable too. Hell Kansas will probably come into our game with 3 losses.

9-3 is reasonable I believe. 8-4 is more probable.
I wouldn't bet the farm on that. KU is better than Nebraska. Sorry.
Now, don't get my last comment twisted Husker nation. I'm not saying Nebraska can't beat KU in lincoln. They can. But KU is the better team as of today. But that's why the games aren't played on paper, they're played on the field. Just ask South Florida. I still feel KU is the better team. The ehat and humidity wore our defense down. Then Reesing got greedy late. I'm going to have nightmares about that game for the rest of the season.

I still think Nebraska goes 7-5 and goes to a good bowl game. However, i will be cheering like HELL for NU to beat MU. God I hate them so.
Until Kansas plays and beats a worthwhile team and wins I will keep thinking the way I do. This year KU's offensive line is VERY spotty, and I think NUs front four can take advantage of that. By the time we get to that game both teams will probably have 3 losses and I think Nebraska wants it more(Getting our assbeat last year and it being at home.) Not to mention, once KU starts losing ball games I think they may just fall apart. We will see.

(Don't get me wrong, NU definantly isnt the best out there, far from in fact, I'm just sick and tired of some Kansas fans throwing sh#t in my face because of their "great" year last year.)

Lucky showed last night why he should get most of the carries IMO.
You must like seeing a lot of passing, cause once he faces a 5 man front again it will be falling backwards on his butt like usual. I'm not completely sold on Helu yet, but he as earned the right to get more carries then he is getting.

lucky has experience over Helu.......and that is all.... <_<
That doesn't translate into being better though............. <_<

Yea, let's go through this again.....

It's more like once our o-line sees a 5 man front again, our run game will go in the crapper again.

Oh and I like to see a lot of wins. Period.

Lucky did okay, but imagine what Helu could have done with the blocking Lucky was getting!...what? we don't have to imagine? Helu didn't do as well? Huh? Comparing RBs empirically based on in-game statistics is pointless?...

Helu got 7 carries, Lucky got 15............Not to hard to figure out why he had more yards.

Lucky averaged 6.9, and Helu averaged 4.6. That projects to 69 yards for Helu. yes, I know this comparison is unfair and completely idiotic.

But ah, Lucky was the one who got 7 carries last week, when people were calling for his head. So can we agree that 7 is a really small sample size, and that it's unfair to judge RBs like this?

Agreed.............Really, as long as we keep producing I don't care who's back there! :woo

but you have to admit, against sub par competition, Lucky looks pretty good..against tough teams........not so much.

No, 9-3 does not look real after a win against New Mexico State. While the team played well.......it was against New Mexico State. It wasn't VT, Missouri, or Texas Tech. So let's just settle down.

Do I think Nebraska can beat VT? Yes. Do I think Nebraska can beat Missouri? As much as I would like to say yes...I just don't think so. Can Nebraska beat Texas Tech in Lubbock? Ehh....perhaps, but it will be very, VERY tough. The next three games will be Nebraska's first three REAL challenges. No offense to the first three teams we faced, but c'mon. You think any of those three teams really match up with the likes of VT, Mizzou, and Texas Tech? ......Didn't think so

It would be great if we could go 3-0 in those games, but that's just unrealistic...especially when Missouri is one of those teams. This is how I think those three games will go:

vs. Virginia Tech:

This is the most winnable game out of the three. Mr. Beamer is no slouch of a coach though. He likes to keep games close and win with his special teams and defense. The VT offense is nothing to write home about though. And, Tyrod Taylor is nothing to write home about either (not yet anyway). Sure he can make plays happen with his feet, but through the air, well, just look at the GT game. I watched that game and I counted at least 15 times that Taylor either underthrew/overthrew his receiver, or didn't make the right read.

If Nebraska can contain his running ability and stop VT's run game totally, I think VT is going to have a tough time moving the ball. Belini isn't going to just sit back and do this QB spy crap either. He's going to be coming after him to test just how good his feet work.

I know there's alot of "if's," but IF Nebraska can run the ball as they did against NMS, I think Nebraska wins this one. If I were Watson, I would be using the option alot more too. VT didn't do too swell against the Flexbone option of GT...

vs. Missouri:

Ummm...not much needs to be said about this game. I look at Nebraska's players and then I look at Missouri's players. Missouri has a better team. Period. I just don't think Nebraska will be able to answer the Daniel/Maclin or Daniel/Coffman connection.

Sorry Husssker fans. I just don't see Nebraska winning this one.

at Texas Tech:

Not sure about this one. Texas Tech has a great passing game (duh), but I feel we have a better D and we definitely have a better running game. If (there's that word again) Nebraska can come out and run the ball well, I think Texas Tech loses this game.

This is the Husker's first road game though, which makes me even more uneasy about this game. Ehhh...

I think the Huskers will go 1-2 over these three games. Not too bad, considering the competition.

But that's why I wouldn't jump the gun and say 9-3 looks real, because it really doesn't right now. 7-5 is more likely. Perhaps 8-4 if we are lucky.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it...

6-6 or 7-5 seems likely to me.

nothing has changed in my expectations, maybe if the three games were 60+ points to 7 points or less...

but ...

The huskers haven't played anyone yet folks, #85, #93 and #109 .....

Anyone surprised that they beat three creampuffs at HOME??

Anyone?

We'll know more after vaTech and Mizzou.

The season starts soon.

GO BO!!

Touche with Helu right behind him. I actually saw Lucky do more running and less dancing. He just needs to learn to do less dancing and to cut up the field. But he had a great game with many more to follow.
