A Blackout for the Okie State Game

The only way this will ever happen is if T-Shirts are passed out as people enter the gates. Otherwise this will never happen.

What if someone notifies Jason Peter or Matt Davison through their radio stations? i.e. call or email

Jason is doing the local media shows so he can mention it on TV and through the radios. Matt can do the same. Both will be on campus they can relay the message to TO, Callahan, Pederson.

It just has to be a black shirt, any shirt!

 
We should just be made a sticky that we will NEVER use blackouts because they never work and just ruin the Sea of Red anyway. It seems like every other week this is proposed and everyone bites the guys head off for posting the idea. :lol:

I agree, if we could just switch the Red with Black for one game, YES, it would be awesome. BUT, that is never going to happen, you can't tell everyone this, and all your gonna do is have a mix of mostly red and some black, and have it look terrible.

There is one way, and only one way for this to happen. However, it is possible. A direct request has to come from the team to wear black - to show our support for the defense. Then one wealthy individual has to hand out FREE black T-shirts (or whatever if it is cold) at each and every gate before the game (unless this is some violation of NCAA rules that I am not aware of - somebody may want to chime in here if it is). I think that if the request came from the players themselves, asking us for our support, and the gear was free, then it could happen. Otherwise, it will not happen. So we should quit asking for it.

 
screw the B******, you will never get everyone to do it just a small portion untill we can get all 85000 to do it show your husker pride and wear red.

My IQ has been rated at 151. Who's on the short bus now? :angry: You try to come up with an idea to maybe help elevate the mood of the defense, and as mentioned, get my head bitten off. So, you hate me. Big whoop. I forgive you. But that's just my nature. I have big shoulders. I can take your ridicule and animosity. I will post no more in this thread. It is not worth my time...

This is something that i can say for all husker fans....i have been to several husker games and i do wear a black husker shirt under my jersey for the black shirts. This sort of thing that you wana see go to a southern mississippi game the golden eagles pack there little stadium with black.(except when nebraska comes around) This is the staple people in LA last year asked is it really a sea of red and all you could reply is, "yes without a doubt YES!"

I think it's a bad idea and I agree that the only way that it will ever happen is if they hand out black shirts at the gate.

Ok fine, you're on the ego bus. I love people who hide behind IQ scores almost as much as people who want blackouts. One wonders how your IQ skyrockets when you bloviate about your greatness on internet message boards. Since your IQ is so high, I'm sure you know what bloviate means too, so bonus. I am also amazed that you high IQ types can stoop to the level of putting scanity clad ladies as thier pic as well.

And, as for my idea to help the defense....."hey guys, grow a pair."

I grow weary of the protocol/obstacle course people like you have to be real husker fans, I thought being a donating alumni was enough, damn.

Enjoy your big shoulders, I'm sure they make carrying the weight of the world all that much easier.

Instead of shirts pass out black signs that everyone could raise up just as the Defense goes on the field and lowered before play starts.

I know it will never happen but this way you could keep the sea of red and still for a moment in time show the black.

Just a thought

I'd be down with the idea of a Blackshirts Towel, for fans to wave when on defense, similar to Pitt's "terrible towel"

That's actually the first sensible, realistic, workable idea I've heard on the subject. The cost would be relatively minimal so that a sponsor or the University could afford it and they could be handed out at the gates so every fan would have one. On the "blank" side, print instructions to raise them when the defense takes the field or when it is 3rd down, etc. I could even see it becoming something of a tradition if handled right.
