When I was 9 I got the chance to hang out with the team at 2 practices. At the last practice the blackshirts were handed out and I remember watching several of these guys on their knees in tears just for being handed that black jersey.

Talk about an impressive sight for a bunch of 9-12 yr. old kids that absolutely idiolized everything nebraska on every saturday.

Man that seems like it was yesterday.

I do sincerely hope the passion like that returns.

When I was 8, me and my dad got to go to a practice and Terrell Farley let me wear his helmet for a little while . . . :)
