A collection of rather horrifying post-game tweets

International Man of Mystery
I'm not going to post the bickering between the players and the fans. There are some true idiots out there tweeting some truly idiotic things at the players, and some players responding. That's.... whatever. I don't care.

Some stats, some quotes, and some seriously troubling conjecture coming out right now:

@Steve_Warren96

@damonbenning @foreman5655 @TouchdownTommie @jasonpeter @TonyOrtiz37 nothing to come weak about. We got man handled. A spade is a spade.

@Steve_Warren96

@foreman5655 @jasonpeter @damonbenning @TouchdownTommie @TonyOrtiz37 they lined up and said your front 7 can't stop us.

@Steve_Warren96

@jasonpeter @foreman5655 @damonbenning @TouchdownTommie @TonyOrtiz37 this is shameful.

@Steve_Warren96

@JustinTWayne @TouchdownTommie @TonyOrtiz37 @damonbenning @foreman5655 crazy when people are looking forward to husker BBall over FB! Lol

@RalphDBrown

It seems like teams that use the Brett Bielema blueprint have success versus Huskers.

@RalphDBrown

Embarrassing losses for the Huskers have been the story of the Bo Pelini era. This stings. #NoFight

‏@RalphDBrown

Minnesota only stopped themselves the entire day on offense.

@foreman5655

@TouchdownTommie @damonbenning @jasonpeter @Steve_Warren96 @TonyOrtiz37 if I hear any of my former teammates coming weak with what they saw

@foreman5655

@TouchdownTommie @damonbenning @jasonpeter @Steve_Warren96 @TonyOrtiz37 I'm slapping tha sh#t outta of em ASAP. Get ready

@JoshHarveyFOX

Quincy Enunwa on if he was surprised by his drops today? "It didn't surprise me, I wasn't focused this game." #Nebraska #Huskers

‏@JoshHarveyFOX

Enunwa went on to say that he needs to figure out how to pick himself up when he's in a hole. "Drops can get in your head."

@JoshHarveyFOX

Enunwa: "As a leader, I can’t let that happen. I have to use my hands better than I did today. I can go out and play better.” #Huskers

@dirkchatelain

Vincent Valentine hadn't practiced as well as Curry/Randle. That's why he barely played.

‏@HuskerExtraBC

Have to say this though: Ameer Abdullah is a heckuva player. Nineteen yards from 1,000 already. #Huskers

‏@HuskerExtraBC

#Huskers really thought they'd hit Gophers big in passing game. But consider this: Only 139 passing yards, and 71 came in first three mins.

@HuskerExtraBC

Bo: "Let's not go there and act like Taylor Martinez lost this football game for us. Our problems today we're far beyond who our (QB) was."

@HuskerExtraBC

"I'm talking basic football," Pelini said, "basic football that we couldn't execute and we didn't execute." #Huskers

@L__Lee

#Huskers have dropped 8 games to unranked teams and have a 8-10 record vs ranked opponents in the Bo Pelini era.

‏@L__Lee

3 of those wins vs ranked opponents came in 2009. 2009: 3-2, 2010: 2-2, 2011: 2-3, 2012: 1-2, 2013: 0-1 #Huskers

@swmckewonOWH

Quincy Enunwa said Nebraska's offense had a bad week of practice and Beck pulled him aside this week to address it.

@swmckewonOWH

TM declined to say what went wrong in the passing game. Asked what we saw from his perspective, he said said "next question."

@swmckewonOWH

Asked why he didn't have coaches clarify that it wasn't turf toe, he said it was "simpler" to say it was. #Huskers

@Blake_Lawrence

If Nebraska's base 4-3 defense can't stop Minnesota's 2 TE or 2 RB setup on this drive it is not due to play calling. Pure heart/discipline

This one stood out to me and gets its own little box. Agree with Mr. Lawrence 100%.

@Sean_Callahan

Most interesting thing we learned in the post game today was Taylor Martinez has "more than turf toe" and is not at 100 percent.

@Sean_Callahan

He wouldn't go into his injury, but said it's the two toes next to his big toe and it happened vs. Wyoming. Also still bothered by shoulder.

@Sean_Callahan

The loss wasn't even close to being on him. NU's defense couldn't get stops, the line didn't protect and WR's dropped passes

@Sean_Callahan

RT @GophersNow: Abdullah has the most yards rushing (164) against the #Gophers since Le'Veon Bell had 266 in a loss to MSU last season.

@JonNyatawa

Nebraska's offense ran 60 total plays vs Minn. The #Huskers hadn't finished a game w/ less than 70 snaps this yr. Averaged 78.3 coming in

@JonNyatawa

Quincy Enunwa: "As a team, we're not stunned. We played terribly. Whenever you play terribly, anybody can beat you" #Huskers

@JonNyatawa

DBs coach Terry Joseph: "It doesn't take a genius to see that they studied the Wisconsin championship game film a ton" #Huskers

@GrantMuessel

Scary thought: Every opponent left on Nebraska's schedule is probably better than Minnesota, excluding Northwestern maybe.

‏@GrantMuessel

10 Minnesota plays on first down went for 10 yards or more. 19 plays went for 5 yards or more. #Huskers

@GrantMuessel

CORRECTION: Minnesota averaged 8.1 yards per play ON FIRST DOWN in the first half. 14 of those plays were runs, 2 were passes.

@GrantMuessel

In the second half, Gophers averaged 7.2 yards per play on first down. 12 of those were runs, 5 were passes. #Huskers

@GrantMuessel

Want to be even more staggered? 59% of Minnesota's total yards came on first down. Yikes.

@GrantMuessel

When I asked Taylor Martinez what his current pain to. He said it's like the pain from the tail end of his freshman year. (cont)

@GrantMuessel

This Spring, I asked Taylor to describe the pain at the end of the season: (Against Texas A&M) ....

@GrantMuessel

"Every time I got hit was like the worst pain I've ever felt in my life."

@GrantMuessel

Minnesota reaches bowl eligibility with the win over Nebraska. #Huskers aren't yet bowl eligible.

@HuskerExtraSip

"Obviously we have to look at the tape," #Huskers DL coach Kaczenski said. "But it just didn't look like we were playing with a lot of pop."

@HuskerExtraSip

"We couldn't stop the power," Rick Kaczenski said. "If you can't stop the power in this league, you'll have long Saturdays." #Huskers

@HuskerExtraSip

Said Pelini: "I thought they out-physicalled us ... That was the most disappointing thing." #Huskers

@HuskerExtraSip

Pelini was adamant that you can't hang this loss on Martinez. "Taylor was the least of our problems," Bo said. #Huskers

‏@HuskerExtraSip

Said Pelini: "This game comes down to blocking and tackling. We didn't do either very well." #Huskers

@HuskerExtraSip

Yes, Minnesota threw some wrinkles at #Huskers 'D,' but "it wasn't anything mind-boggling," Pelini said.

@HuskerExtraSip

Bo Pelini says defense got pushed around and had "way too many breakdowns." #Huskers

@HuskerExtraSip

Taylor Martinez said "every time I push off (on left foot), it feels like there's a shock." #Huskers

@HuskerExtraSip

Martinez is not 100 percent, he said. His left shoulder also is ailing. Foot and shoulder were injured against Wyoming, he said. #Huskers

@HuskerExtraSip

Taylor Martinez says it's not turf toe. It's his second and third toes that are hurt. Fractured? "I'm not going to say," he said. #Huskers

Based on a couple of those tweets about Martinez, he definitely should be sitting and getting healthy rather than being thrown into the game like he has. Good grief coaches.

"We couldn't handle the power". Against Minnesota.

That's it. I'm drinking.

Thanks for putting this all in one post, knapplc.

He shouldn't play ever again. Thanks for everything, Taylor. You gave your body and your heart to this team for 3.5 years and we really, really appreciate it, but here's a clipboard and a play sheet, and you'll be standing here next to Ronnie Kellogg signalling in plays for the rest of the year.

He's just not going to get healthy. If he has a fracture he's not going to heal fast enough to be a meaningful part of this offense through November. If he has some kind of ligament damage then he's still not going to heal fast enough. He clearly wasn't 100% today, and with either a fracture or ligament damage he's not going to get healthy enough, fast enough.

The only smart thing to do at this point is give Taylor his gold watch for his years of service and put him to pasture, give Tommy the ball and roll with the punches of starting another Redshirt Freshman. With this defense we're not winning a Big Ten title anyway, so get your future QB some reps and get him his game experience now.

Not to mention the coaches are putting him through an unnecessary beating from the fans by leading us to believe he's not hurt. I mean if the guy's hurting and toughing it out fans can respect that. When we don't know this is the case we jump all over him and that's not fair to him.

I think I've finally figured out the advantage the 11am games give us Midwesterners: When the team sh#ts the bed like this, we have two less hours in our day to fret over it. You left coasters have to suffer that much longer.

If, as a fan, you do not realize that this team is mentally done, checked out, cashed it in etc......You (me) are crazy. Coaches playing a kid, who admits he is basically broken down. You have a healthy TA and RKIII who are more than serviceable. A captain, picked by Bo, who admits he was mentally out of it. WTH!!!!!!!

This entire team needs a meeting with a sport psychologist. We have some serious issues.

Those tweets from the team and staff make me feel worse than the loss. Damn.

Amzing that Joseph mentioned the Wisky game. Same thing we have said all season. Again, crappy coaching at best. Best of luck Bo.

Tom-Brady-frustrated.gif
sorry, but I don't get the faith in Randle. He really hasn't been a factor all year long. If we are having a youth movement then play collins and let him learn on the job. If he gets pushed out of place a few plays it will be the same as having Randle in there getting pushed around the whole game
Sadly, Randle has been a non factor for years. Throw the young guys to the wolves. At least then you can blame it on youth and inexperience......

But the beer here is awesome.
I'd rather have the wine.
You chose.....poorly.

The beer here is so good, the S on Stanford's helmet look like an N, and they already play like we all wish Nebraska would.

dagnabit Shaw is a hell of a coach. He'd be a guy I'd back the Brinks truck up for (and pony up a heapin' helpin' of my own money for the dept to spend) to get him here, but that is never happening.

This is on the coaches. QB Play inspires!! It has SO MUCH MORE of an effect than must the offense. I don't care if he was re starter. He's not the best QB on the team anymore. C'mon, Bo!

I like T-Magic, he has put his body and spirit on the line for NU, but his time has passed.
