Sorry for my hack edit there! I get your point. I realy do. Any kind of support is good, and I would love for it to be something huge. You can't always get what you want though.

I am really liking the towel idea more and more. I wonder if people could get behind that?

I am sure some will say that we stole the idea from the Steelers and that it is not original, but then again neither is the 100% B.O. The towels might even get the crowd pumped up a little bit more.

The main question I've been trying to get answered for myself from this thread (other than the definition of "Parenthetically") is.....

WHY BLACK?

Back when I played (in high school), when we were on defense, we wore black, red, green, or blue mesh pullovers over our white practice jerseys to differentiate us from the offense so we wouldn't run into each other during scrimmages..

Near as I can remember, Nebraska had already started the "Blackshirt tradition" maybe a decade before, although I seem to remember seeing scrimmages with defenders wearing several different colors when I was at UNL.

I used to go to concerts when I was a teenager, but never bought the T-shirts at the venues mostly because they were severely overpriced, but also because I didn't like wearing black( the only color that seemed to be available).

If you really want to intimidate the opponents, go shirtless!

My man-boobs can make even the most jaded Forensic Medical Examiner turn squeamish.

Especially with the few hundred skin tags that recently showed up.

And if you're at the game and really want to support our team, stop yelling "Down in Front" and lose yer voice cheering FOR the team.

The guys that are playing are too focused on the game to notice if our shoes match our purses.

When someone can get everyone in the stadium (or very nearly everyone...more than we currently get) to wear red to a game, then I'll get behind the idea of trying a b*******. However, we can't even get people to wear red to a game, and that's a big tradition!

So yeah, since we can't even get everyone to follow our tradition, I say f#*k blackouts. Once that changes, even for ONE GAME, I'll happily endorse a b******* attempt.

Edit - Btw, the editing of the word b******* is retarded. Enough already.

I would be all for the black towel idea for the defense. I think that is much more doable than everyone wearing black. I think the University book store actually sells these towels because I picked up a couple last season and the season before that. I have them upstairs right now and if I remember right they have a skull and crossbones on them with Blackshirts on them.
