A Snyder at Nebraska

Surprised.

I really had high hopes for ST improvement.

Injury problems with a few kickers probably made us seem worse and are probably not as affected by having an area coach, but I suspect our kick returns and coverage teams could use some new direction.

Wonder how many points per game this will cost us...or how many games?

2019 Special Teams

This is exactly right.  Just having a legitimate (uninjured) kicker will make a lot of difference.  Hopefully an improvement in the punting department as well.

The other thing that will make a huge difference is being able to turn our young linebackers and defensive backs loose on special teams.  Due to redshirting and injuries, most of them played sparingly last year.  We'll have have full use of Luke Reimers, Quinton Newsome, Braxton Clark, Noa Pola-Gates, Myles Farmer, Javin Wright, Jamin Graham and Jackson Hannah.  Maybe get some work out of David Alston, Nick Henrich and Garrett Snodgrass.  All will have at least a year of practice experience and a couple off-seasons of S&C under their belts.  Then we'll have help from Jaiden Francois, Henry Gray, Ronald Delancy, Tamon Lynum, Isaac Gifford, Jimari Butler and maybe Blaise Gunnerson and Keyshawn Greene as true freshmen in the mix.

All that will make significantly more difference than whatever coach we get in to help coordinate things.  But if we get improvement in that area as well, we should be in good shape going forward.
