I'm pretty sure that's how they calculate it. I'm sure the best don't have as many thrown their way but the rating wouldn't matter how many, just how they did on the ones they got.How do they calculate a QB rating against a particular DB? Is it based on the passes thrown his way? If so, wouldn't the best DBs have such tight coverage that not many passes get thrown that way?
Yeah, that would make sense.I'm pretty sure that's how they calculate it. We are running a completely different scheme - or at least running a similar scheme in a completely different way. Last year we ran almost exclusively man-to-man coverage. Our guys had to do every thing they could just to stay with the receivers all over the field. They were focused on the receivers, not the play.On a different note, I wonder what our DBs are doing different this year that's getting us so many interceptions? Different techniques? Or just more talent? Whatever it is, I LIKE it?![]()
And having one coach for the safeties and another for the corners has got to help a lot.We are running a completely different scheme - or at least running a similar scheme in a completely different way. This year we are running mostly zone - or at least zone concepts. They are able to play off a bit more and can see the play develop in front of them. Now they can see into the backfield and anticipate the throws where last year they didn't even know the ball was in the air.
I'm sure that doesn't hurt, especially since it seems like the coaches weren't all on the same page terminology-wise last year. And having one coach for the safeties and another for the corners has got to help a lot.We are running a completely different scheme - or at least running a similar scheme in a completely different way.
