Abdullah eager to make a sophomore jump

Wait until you get to the game against Michigan. :cry

Down 7 at the half Nebraska receives the 2nd half kick-off and Kenny Bell fumbles it away, setting up a short field for the Michigan offense, they score a TD and they have a 14 point lead. Nebraska then has a kick blocked giving MU another short field and TD now they're up 21. The add in the other self-inflicted miscues, Michigan's defense faking injuries to slow the game, especially that "roughing" the punter call and it isn't surprising the game turned out the way it did. Doesn't excuse it or make it better but............

Abdullah has the most potential on the offensive side to play in the NFL
I actually say Ben Cotton, but to each is their own. His return skills will get him on the field before the RB thing. He has a lot of time to grow and to even get to that step, but I could see AA as a David Meggett type 3rd down back/returner

Dexter McCluster is who I see. Dynamic returner, solid scat back.

Not even close to 10% as much. But you can't expect some to understand that.
42 rushes

1 reception

26 kick returns

15 punt returns

---------------------

84 touches

Taylor would need to have had 840 touches his freshman year for Ameerto even be at 10%. As it turns out, he isn't particularly close to 10%, he's a little over double that.

I'm not trying to say AA's ball security is tremendous because it's something I've never really watched for, but Taylor was quite cavalier with the ball as a freshman.

Double? Not a chance.

2010, NU ran the ball 634 times which the vast overwhelming majority Tmart was involved with and he passed the ball 196 times. That's 830 total. I'm too lazy to break down every rushing play for that year but it's got to be around a 9 to 1 ratio. I thought it would be even more than that but that's still a HUGE difference in the amount of touches.

You should go break down the stats then considering that Taylor didn't rush for 1000 yards and missed some time. Helu had 1300 yards rushing and Rex had over 800, you don't get those numbers by just carrying the ball 20 times. If the total attempts is 634, then maybe Taylor got a third.

-----edit--------

I actually think, without looking it up on my phone, that Taylor may have cleared 1000. I remember that there was a chance for 3 different 1000 yard rushers but either Rex or Taylor didn't quite get there.

Uhhh, we're talking "touches" here. You know, the qb usually handles the ball on every single play which of course he could fumble......you with me?

Oh, I guess I was only counting Taylor's carries instead of times when he got the snap.

My bad :D

Sure I understand, wasn't sure where you were going in the attempts argument. But I see where Zoogies kind of led you there.
