About to buy a new TV

First of all, you seem to be forgetting about videogame consoles (although I guess you can count PS3). Secondly, while tv stations aren't broadcasting in 1080p right now, it's really not going to be long before they do. If you have the money you should absolutely buy a 1080p tv now, because it IS a big difference (especially the bigger the tv), and it is going to become the standard and stay that way for a while.

well i suppose. of course eventually tv will be broadcasted in 1080p, but who knows how long that will be. And even then, you don't know how many stations are actually going to switch to it. I suppose alot of the premeire movie ones would, but im not sure about ones such as ESPN. ESPN is only 720p for me now, maybe thats just me for some reason, but im surprised its not 1080i.

Overall i would get a 1080p one, im just saying its not essential ;)
