Adam Taylor - 0 Career Carries

We need a type of scholarship for football players who get injured. Take away the football scholarship, but give them another type of scholarship.
They do have those.  Guys going on medical hardships all the time.  I guess Taylor wanted to contribute to the team on special teams even if he knew he would never get a snap at IB.

Is there an option for a player who just doesn't pan out, and will never see the two deep? I would like to open up the scholarship, but not at the expense of taking it away from another player.

Gotta be honest, I thought Adam was going to be a star here. His highlight tape of the state championship his senior year was... Adrian Peterson esque. Kid looked like a bona fide stud. Who knows what the answer is to why he never took the next step, but it was always a bummer.

Kudos to Adam Taylor for seeming to be a quality young man comfortable in his own skin and role.

Complete lack of kudos to that guy from Katy TX who posted on here completely obsessed with him and every other high school boy in Katy who played football, and then hoped that Nebraska never won another game ever again until they let Adam Taylor play. Yikes.

Edit: Oh, and his username was candyman???? Da fuq, dude.

If you look into a mirror and say his name three times,

...sorry...I was trying to think of something witty to say and just got shut out...like Nebraska's offense in the 2nd half against Iowa.

I’m sure there are some schools that will put a guy on medical hardship even if he doesn’t have a career ending injury. It’s a way to let them finish their education and opening up a scholarship for a new recruit.

Most of the schools will strongly recommend that the player transfers if he’s not panning out as expected. This happens all the time in the SEC.

If I was recruiting I would like to be able to tell a player that he will get 5 years to finish his degree regardless of how his football career goes. Of course I would also emphasize how the SEC tosses players away like garbage if their talent is no longer needed.

Everyone talks about how much class MR has, but Adam Taylor doesn't get a carry in a 56-14 blowout on senior day. There is no excuse for this.

Yeah, I thought this was disappointing. Didn't see many seniors in general late in the game apart from those who already played all year.

Between that and the press conference, I don't think Riley did himself any favors.

There could be plenty of excuses, or, rather, explanations for this. No need to accuse Mike Riley of having poor character. Maybe Adam was hurt? Maybe he didn't want pity snaps and told the coaches he was good? Hell, maybe he was even home for Thanksgiving. We have no idea.
