Adam Taylor to Redshirt

How did this develop? I heard yesterday afternoon that Ron Brown said that Adam Taylor (might) redshirt this year. That the decision was to be left up to him and his family. I got the notion that the coaching staff didn't want to make the same mistake again (burning the redshirts for Abduallah, Heard, and Green).

I was looking forward to seeing him this year, but if he's not 100%, then give a year off and come back strong next season. This also will make him the only senior when he is a senior. Plus he has the character to treat this as an adult and understand his role on the team. He won't transfer--guarantee.

Brown basically said yesterday that Taylor wants to redshirt this year. The coaches respect that decision, but if there are injuries and Taylor is needed, the coaches will pull the redshirt and play him.

No arguing here. Just saying I think and express think cause I am not a Neb coach but Cross doesn't do any thing this year.
I would be willing to bet that Cross gets more carries then Newby this year. Newby will get carries, but he will make his mark in the return game this year. I would guess it would be similar to what Abdullah got his Fr year. I also think King Frazier will get some carries.

I just seen a video interview with Coach Brown & he said he is 100%. He also said Adam knows if he is needed he will be used.

So where the hell is the whole transfer thing coming from?

I have no idea why anyone would mention transferring at this point.

Very puzzling to me. As has been said, he was number two on the depth chart less than two weeks ago and Beck is on record saying he is a "faster Imani Cross."

When he first got to campus, I had heard the game was moving very fast for him and that he would need time to adjust to the speed of play. My buddy compared it to Rex's first few weeks on campus. Thought fall camp would do the trick. Just very puzzling as to what happened to prompt this situation. Good thing is we can now be very selective with our choice of a 2014 RB.

I've been wrong before, but never this dead wrong.

What does make me a little nervous is that anyone remember Curt Dukes? He was supposed to be our savior in 2003. Didnt he do something of the sort by going to the coaches and basically saying he wasnt ready or somethin? Resulting in Lord retaining the starting qb spot in '03. And then we never heard from the kid again. He was supposed to be our knight in shining armor before Daily was.

I think Curt Dukes was either/both a) not that talented and b)couldn't adjust mentally/emotionally to college football. He did nothing after he left the program.

Absolutely nothing to do with his ability. He could play, although limited snaps because of a logjam. Newby can get the ball different ways, so it's not fair to compare and say Newby is better. They are very good at their respective skills.

Cethan Carter's tweet is somewhat telling and I've seen a few people in the know mention it as well, even brought up by girlknowsfootball Cethan said Taylor is the strongest person he knows benches 500 but can only squat 250. I think he thinks it would be better to redshirt and be as strong and as fast as possible vs wasting a year getting minimal carries when he's not quite where he's going to be strength wise later in his career. Very smart move IMO.
This scares the crap out of me, its been well over a year, I would like to think that his knee should be fully healed. I mean he played all last season on it in HS, and then he has had all off season to get it stronger. IDK maybe I'm just being paranoid but IMO that knee should be a hell of alot stronger then it sounds like it is

He transfered to Duke where he was second string & did nothing.

A lot of the time when freshman come in the can improve their squat very rapidly by simply correcting their form. That was my case anyways and I don't even come from a naturally strong family.
