Ads inside of threads are too intrusive.

I emptied my cache and restarted my computer. That seemed to help.

Now the Machete screen takeovers are back, probably 12 in the last 10 minutes, some just seconds apart. 

 
I'm genuinely curious how this works from the advertisers point of view.  Do they really think these ads are a good d use of their advertising budget? 

I've never once looked at who it is doing the advertising.  I just look for the minute x to try to close the ad.  Then when I mistakenly hit the ad and it takes me to their site I'm like "ahhhh get me out of here!!!!" as fast as possible.  Has anyone ever stayed on a site they hit by accident actually start shopping and then hand over their credit card information...lol.
