Aftere watching the game...

I think that we were setting up that half back pass all year. Didn't we run it last year with Ross throwing to Peterson for a touchdown.

Yeah we did. I was thinking the same thing this week. We run the toss sweep all the time, and UT bit it big. Did you see their corner on the replay? He pointed back at Swift and no one was near them at all. Great call from BC

Yeah, the two safeties and the corner all looked at each other like it was the other person's responsibility to cover him. Priceless.

It typically takes 5 full years for a coach's system to rebuild a teeam. Callahan's pretty impressive in just 3. He;s doing just fine. Think last year's team could have performed even NEAR this well? I don't.

I disagree, Texas got stuck in a crappy environment. Bad weather. On the road. They won the 2 & 3rd qtr and the second half of the 4th qtr.

If the weather is bad for the Big XII championship then we have a chance.

Speed wasn't a factor in this game. Which benefitted us. BC finally started calling the short passing game and it worked. Our running game was non existent. We fought hard, but we still lost and I put the loss on the coach even though he can't predict a fumble.
dedhoarse Here we go bashing the coach yet again!
I guess we should just accept losing to the texas' and oklahomas' of the south

I agree, they have better team speed, but that was negated by the weather.

What calls did Callahan make that were so bad. I thought that he called a good game and Nebraska just had a couple of tough breaks.
the ib pass was an awesome play call to get the lead, but you have to finish. Obviously they didn't

I was soooo excited b/c I thought we had the game won.

texas was more lucky than good. Every ball bounced thier way.
They got their share of lucky bounces, but you create your own luck

DAMN STRAIGHT

I don't get it. They should of beaten NU by more than what they did. They shut down the run game. They dominated NU's O-line.

Nebraska is just not there yet talent wise.
The O line held thier own in the second half. Texas had 4 fumbles, and all but one bounced right under one of thier linemen. We can beat Texas. We shot ourselves in the foot with the 3 turnovers.

This team is going to finish strong the rest of the season imo, starting next week where I think we will destroy OSU in house and start a great finish to the season. GBR

Nu fan in Denver, i don't think anyone wants to accept losing to Texas or Oklahoma, but there is not reason to blame this lose on Callahan like you said that you did.

I asked what calls Callahan made that were bad, and you responded with example of a good call but said that we needed to finish it off. So what were the bad calls that didn't allow us to finish the game off.

I don't know if anyone has said this, but how about the o-lne? They played like crap in the first half, and great in the 2nd half. Once our O got into a rythm, they started building confidence and seemed like they couldn't be stopped, and I attribute a lot of that to the o-line and their protection for ZT.

Our O-line played well in the second half. It looked like they let Taylor call the protection schemes when in the shotgun since he could see the whole defense better. Good halftime adjustment by the coaching staff.

Anyone that blames the coach for this loss is totally nuts. This was a hard fought game to the end. Three Texas players were carted off the field. The kids were playing the hearts out for this program and this coach. The coach can only get players in position to win. He did that. This game was won. Just some bad luck took it away.

Embrace the team and the coach, if you can't you are not a Nebraska fan. It hurts to lose, but do it with pride. We played to win from the very first second, and we never quit for a moment. We are still two years away from what BC wants. I am more than happy with the progress shown after this game. The crowd stood and cheered the team for quite awhile after the game. The large majority is happy with the progress we all should be.

So what that Nebraska lost. Nebraska did a great job putting themselves into position to win even though they lost. The clear picture here is that everybody in the country knows that Nebraska can play. I bet that the recruits that came know that we are not just a good team but a very good team on the verge of greatness. You can't blame Callahan or Zac Taylor for this loss. They both did a great job of coaching and making plays. We with bounce back and face Texas again and win next time. Great job Nebraska!
