Aftere watching the game...

texas was more lucky than good. Every ball bounced thier way.

DAMN STRAIGHT
I don't get it. They should of beaten NU by more than what they did. They shut down the run game. They dominated NU's O-line.

Nebraska is just not there yet talent wise.

The O line held thier own in the second half. Texas had 4 fumbles, and all but one bounced right under one of thier linemen. We can beat Texas. We shot ourselves in the foot with the 3 turnovers.

Those 3 turnovers can be offset by the missed field goals. Don't matter. Nebraska will not get a better shot.

We were at home.

It was cold and snowing.

The QB is a promising RS Freshman who's only gonna get better.

They dominated both of our lines.....period. They were bigger and faster and it showed.

Hmm if they dominated our OL why didn't they have a sack in the second half? Please explain!
You cannot break down a game into pieces. Getting sacked 4 times, no matter when in the game is enough.

Flat out!!!!! You people need to quit looking at things through your Husker goggles and realize, the better team won.

Huskers have ways to go. They need to go get better talent.
:rollin dude...we're talking about the Nebraska vs. Texas game that was played today 10/21/2006...you forgot to change the channel away from whatever ESPN instant classic game you were watching because you weren't watching the game that was on ABC today :dumdum

Before things escalate NO MORE NAME CALLING OR THREATS read the rules please.

Great game though

Today was not a talent issue. Both teams played well and played very evenly. It seams you are the one wearing the goggles (the I watched a different game than everyone else goggles). What decided this game was turnovers and tackling. Do the Huskers have a ways to go, yes, but I feel a lot better about this team as of today. I wonder how your outlook may of been different if Texas had missed the final field goal?

I watched the same game as you. And again, I am not bashing the Huskers. The defense played very well. My original post was a response to people saying that "Texas was lucky." and "Texas will get stomped next time." Which will NOT happen this year or next year.

I also am not satisfied with a loss. Both teams got different breaks during the game, it was just Texas that pulled it out. When the snow began to fall, the stadium was absolutely rocking. It seemed like no one had anything to worry about. We do not have a long way to get back to where we need to be. One small change in numerous plays would change this game.

On my walk back from the stadium, I found myself angry. Yeah I'm proud of our team, etc, but I couldn't really think of anyone to be mad at. We'll get them in K.C. Until then, we will just have to live killing the rest of the Big 12.

You are correct, we need to take care of business with the rest of the big 12 to ensure that we get another shot at the Longhorns.

We should be "WORRIED" about Mizzou.

And going down to OK state and A&M will not be cake either.

Yeah, we need to stay on top of things and take care ourselves. Each game presents us with some challenges. I am actually more worried about the road game at A&M rather than the Mizzou game but I just can't wait til next Saturday so we can get on our way to the Big 12 Champ. Game

There was a little luck on both sides (missed FGs, mother nature, and turnovers). I do agree, I doubt Texas will get stomped for quite awhile. Texas does have talent, but doesn't seem that they are that far ahead of NU at this point. This game is simple, we hold onto the ball, we win! Coaching was good, NU played pretty good against agood opponent, but we turned the ball over when it was most crucial not to.

Personally, here's the "POSITIVE" I take away from the game. If we would won against UT 20-19 and the way we did with the trick plays. We would be playing an angry UT in December. At least now they can be a little over confident.

Axel ,is correct in some points. We need better talent, we were run aground by the last staff. We need a DB that stands over 6 foot and hits like a train. I hear he was in the stands today, and if he was, I am sure Nebraska looked pretty good to him.

We are in the middle of rebuilding/retooling and change of direction program. 5 years is needed for every single player to be BC's. His needs and his requirements and standards. I am very happy with the way the program is evolving. I wanted the win as bad as anyone. I drove 4000 miles to see it but this is a moral victory for this program and their fans. Look to the bright side of the results.

Do I think we will stomp Texas next game? No, they will be better prepared for us next time and in a neutral envireoment. We gave it a great try and we are headed in the right direction, be happy with the improvement. The future is ours if we support this team, this coach and this direction.

I don't know if anyone has said this, but how about the o-lne? They played like crap in the first half, and great in the 2nd half. Once our O got into a rythm, they started building confidence and seemed like they couldn't be stopped, and I attribute a lot of that to the o-line and their protection for ZT.
I AM going to comment on this w/o readin any other posts in this thread. Regarding you, the bad call was not punting and giving the ball to their fr qb w/ 1: 45 LEFT AND 0 to to prove himself and the lackluster kicker they have. IF THEY WOULD HAVE MADE A 40-50 YD fg at the end then I would be glad to give the win to them despite the fact that we didn't call to with 1;07 TO go in the game and allowed them to mild the clock to 30 sec and us burn 2 to on a icing play and a challenge ( which was used for an icing play to bring us to 1-0 t/o, i cant remeber). bUT With 20+ seconds left, it is a lot easier to give your kicker a shot at A fg than w/o the t/o.
