Maher shares kicker of the year with northwestern's kicker

Maher second team kicker and punter by coaches. He was first team by the media
This is surprising, considering he has been a little inconsistent at times this year. Better as of late, but there's still part of me that wonders if a punt will go 10 or 60 yards, and a chip shot field goal is within range. Still, wouldn't trade him for anyone else in the B1G right now.

Honorable mention goes as followed.

Coaches. Ben Cotton, ciante, Justin Jackson and PJ Smith

Media includes Cotton, Ameer, Compton, ciante, Jackson, Maher as a punter, Kyler reed, PJ and Baker

Hopefully, Ciante is pissed and will come out and show everyone why I think he should have been 1st team, let alone being friggin snubbed ! This is a joke !

I mean it's nice to see a lot of Huskers on that list, but Ciante not being on there is a joke. One of the best man cover corners and the guy will tackle. Probably the case of him not getting his name called a lot because no one throws to him.

Here's the way I interpret TMart making coaches first team and not Media.

Coaches, who are going to know more about x's and O's than the media, is saying..."We wouuld rather play and prepare against Braxton Miller versus TMart, because TMArt is more dangerous."

The boy can throw that ball with accuracy, even if he has his moments.

How the f#*k does WU get 4 guys on 1st team O?

My take is this:

Only our 2nd yr in conference, going up against 2-3 yr starters in B1G we'll lose out in that.

Coaches made more favorable picks for us. I trust them more than "media". Especially the traditional media.

Underclassmen will generally lose out to upperclassman.

Basically i dont completely disagree with anything except Ciante not making at least a second team is an absolute f#*k job!!!

I agree Ciante is a f*ck job.

My biggest complaint is Kenny Bell. With DB playing in different schemes, its hard to compare numbers.

It's pretty flippin' easy to compare Kenny Bell to Abbrederis, as I mentioned earlier. I do not think Abbrederis has ONE better statistic. Not even mentioning how much better blocker he is.

K Bell is only 1229 yards away from breaking Johny Rodger's career receiving yards record. If he is here for his senior year, he should break that.
