This is #1 of 2 for the Defensive End position. I selected players that were either All American or Multi-year All Conference performers. The same rule applies as all the others if you don’t see your guy please select other and type him in. FYI I didn’t include The Sandman or Trev because according to their listing on www.huskers.com they were officially OLB’s. (Trev also won the Butkus)

 
wikipedia: Wistrom holds the school record for tackles for loss with 58.5 for 260 yards and ranks second with 26.5 sacks, had his No. 98 retired during the 1998 season.

 
I'm sure there have been some great DEs before my time. But I can say without a doubt that Wistrom is the best end I've ever seen with my own eyes. And not just at NU either!

This should be an absolute rout.

For whatever reason I think he is a much better Pro then he was college player. Maybe it was when he came to NU but I always thought he could have done more then he did while he was here. He lettered 4 years and received some honors but I personally thought he was going to be dominating. (Like I said this may have just been what I expected from him)

 
Wistrom was the man....nobody messed with him. Defensive players like him only come around every couple decades.
