I don't care what anyone says: no one had the pure talent Phillips had. If it weren't for his anger problem and consequent suspension from the team, he would have had a legitimate shot at the Heisman in 95.

Agreed. Both Warren Sapp & Ray Lewis have said LP was the best player they have ever played against at any level.

I agree, but I read the poll as who did the most for the Huskers while they were here.

LP was a destructive force, and only an incredibly strong team and coach could hold it together when he blew and got suspended during a championship run.

Green's NFL career means nothing to me (for the sake of this poll), just like lack of a good or even any NFL career doesn't diminish Frazier, Gill, Crouch, Rodgers, Alberts, Rozier, etc., in regards to their standing as Huskers. Maybe if he'd have stayed for a big senior year, I'd pick Green over Rozier, but he didn't. I know Rozier also only had 3 years as a Husker, but that was because of the year of JC, and he stayed as long as he could've.

Rozier was amazing too. I make no apologies for putting him over Green and Phillips.
