She's also got those wonderful quotes out there about patrolling the sidelines for suspicious characters to make sure they are running a clean program...

There is absolutely no way she survives this.

USC, who we'll all remember was slammed to the tune of 30 schollies and two years without a bowl, the harshest penalty in recent memory. What USC did looks like playing Candy Land past bedtime compared to the U's antics.

Forget which was worse, SMU or Miami. Just look at the infractions, the length, the breadth, and the depth of them. Consider that they are now repeat violators. To me the Death Penalty is the only punishment fitting this kind of corruption. When you have a handful of coaches and dozens of players involved for the better part of a decade, what else is just? You couldn't strip enough schollies to make it fair after what they did to USC.

USC got such a harsh penalty because they did nothing to help in the investigation. My understanding is that isn't the case here.

Of course she is, and it should come of no surprise to anybody.

 
One of the writers of the Yahoo article Dan Wetzel is on 1620 right now and he said they only included what they could confirm in the article. He said that Shapiro told them stories of corruption well beyond what they wrote about.

 
I don't see why everyone is saying this is a 10 for the reported allegations. To me a 10 would have to show me in the allegations. When I heard this my first thought was well duh tell me something I didn't know.

its fun now.... because its new and we have nothing else to talk about..... but over the next several months it will get very OLD.. hearing it day after day after day everytime miami is on tv and anytime something "new" is made available to the press.

I think this bigger than what happened at USC or tOSU.... its pretty much on the same level as SMU because its repeat violations (while on probation) and the length of time that it went on.

That is just blatant on the part of the university. Coaches were involved, and somebody in the athletic department, assistant AD I think it said, called to tip him off....

Wow!

If true, I do not see an alternative than the Death Penalty.

 
The U hit the mother load, it could take some time before they figure this one all out for the appropriate sentence. With the evidence there Miami is screwed, that's too bad for the new coach. This isn't the first time, nothing new to the U.

So I have done some soul searching and came up with best defense for the U. It goes a little something like this. Delta House style!!

"Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our female party guests -- we did. [winks at Mark Emmert] But you can't hold a whole athletic program responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole college football system? And if the whole college football system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, Mark -- isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!
