I wonder if his name will be mentioned much during fall camp? Sort of felt he got lost in the shuffle with the emergence of David and the schematics of Big XII play.

 
He should be one of our top backups... Fisher, Compton, and David are the top 3, Whaley's probably next on the depth chart right now...

 
Whaley started a game last year as a soph, right? But he played Mike, and I think we didn't run that scheme too much.

Whaley had a lot of playing time in non-conference play, before Compton came back from injury. As the season went on though, coaches started just using Gomes along side David if Compton wasn't in the game.

He played decently as a freshmen, and was injured all last year. What do you want from the guy?

Whaley should be the top back up behind Compton. I always liked what Whaley brought to the table phyically but i guess he just never got it mentally.
