Ameer Abdullah makes mid-season All American list

Congrats to Ameer! His performance has certainly been worthy of the attention. Honestly, I can't remember a time when we've been so loaded with outstanding freshman talent as we are this year.

 
David's 56ish tackes don't really hold a candle to Kuechly's 99 though. I don't really think it's a matter of him being off pace of last year, it's just a fact that there are 3 other guys who from a stats perspective (and that's 75% of these things) are blowing him away.

David is 3rd in the b1g in tackles. There are 2 iowa lb's in front of him. The team has a very heavy dose of B1g defensive line people so maybe that's another reason why they didn't go with David. I really don't understand why they have Upshaw picked. He has 18 tackles for the season. EIGHTEEN.

Totally agree about David, though. David has been solid as a rock so far this season, even when the rest of the defense hasn't.

Maybe, or they'll kick it to Marlowe. Which brings up a good point - Nebraska has the #1/#2 (depending on the week) Kickoff Returner in the country. The kid has already taken one to the house and has another over 60 yards, and who-knows-how-many over 30 yards. So why are people still kicking to him? Why not kick it to Marlowe?

Not complaining, just kind of scratching my head.

Of course, Marlowe has speed to burn anyone as well, so if they don't have good coverage he's gone, too. Apparently people just want to see if the Freshman will screw up. He muffed the first kickoff of the year, and one punt, but otherwise he's been stellar.

I was wondering this after the first 2 games. If you watch closely, Unless the ball is kicked clear to Marlowe's side of the field (risking a possible kick out of bounds), Abdullah will return it. It's not the ol' 50/50 split "If it lands on my half I get it."
