It turns out Detroit Lions starting tailback Ameer Abdullah was never going to get back on the field after his Week 2 foot injury last season. As he admitted to fellow Nebraska alum Adam Carriker, he actually suffered a Lisfranc injury, an extremely painful injury that requires extensive rehab.

To be fair, there were only 11 RBs in the NFL last year who had enough carries to average 15 over a full season.agree, he is not a guy that can take a pounding in the NFL........12-15 carries is about right.
