Andy Christensen out for season

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Nebraska guard Andy Christensen will miss the rest of the season after injuring his left knee against Southern California, coach Bill Callahan said Monday.

Christensen was hurt on the Cornhuskers' second offensive series when he was blocking downfield on a shovel-pass play. Mike Huff replaced Christensen and likely will start against Ball State on Saturday.

Christensen started eight of 14 games last season after sitting out 2005 with a shoulder injury.

Callahan said cornerback Zackary Bowman, who limped to the sidelines in the second quarter and didn't return, is OK and will play against the Cardinals.

We might not see a difference in the blocking against Ball State, Huff's pretty good, though we may see a difference against other more skilled teams. Lets just hope.

Nope, he is a Junior. There shouldn't be much of a drop-off from Christiansen to Huff, since Huff is an experienced starter from a year ago.

Huff plays like an unlatched gate in a wind storm. The opposition is spending too much time in the Nebraska backfield and Huff is a major reason why.

Tough luck for Andy Christiansen.... that's two of the last 3 seasons that he's gone down for the year. :hmmph

Hopefully someone is able to fill the gap.....
