Andy Christensen

IMO it will be good for him to see the walls of the jail for a couple more days. Maybe then he will realize this is some serious sh*t he is involved in.

I wouldn't be surprised if they change venue, with him being so well known here.
And in which Nebraska county do you suggest he will be substantially less well known? ;)
Could always do it out in Sidney....probably some people out there that pay more attention to Wyoming than they do Nebraska football...but I doubt it....I get your point. But in Lincoln they are more likely to know him and her for that matter.

county judge recused herself Tuesday at what was to be Andy Christensen’s first appearance on a sexual assault allegation.

Charges have not been filed yet against the Nebraska offensive lineman who spent the weekend in jail and is scheduled to be in court again on Thursday.

Christensen was set to be released Tuesday evening after posting 10 percent of a $500,000 percentage bond, according to court staff.

Christensen was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a University of Nebraska-Lincoln senior at a downtown bar early Saturday and resisting arrest.

The 23-year-old alleged victim says Christensen approached her at the Brass Rail, 1436 O St., and that when she turned away from him he reached under her skirt and assaulted her.

On Saturday, Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini suspended Christensen from the team indefinitely.

In court on Monday, Christensen was brought into court and Judge Lyn White set his percentage bond at $500,000, nearly double the state’s request of $300,000.

On Tuesday, Christensen was set to be in court for a bond review and make his first appearance on the allegations.

Lancaster County Judge Mary Doyle let Brad Roth withdraw as Christensen’s attorney. Bob Creager is his new attorney.

Creager asked Doyle to consider reducing Christensen’s bond to $300,000, an amount the prosecution sought a day earlier. Christensen’s family could post the bond, he said.

Doyle refused and said she was recusing herself and will make no rulings in the case because she knows the alleged victim.

A judge from another judicial district is expected to preside over the Thursday hearing.

Maybe she should have recused herself before she set the amount

He he did do this then he is screwed and deservedly so. You don't just go around and do stuff like this. The bond was probably set so high because he may have been charged with numerous assaults on peace officers if he assaulted each individual officer in some way and if he caused injuries that's even worse. I don't want a nut job like that with the Huskers.

If she was aware that she knew the victim she should have stepped out earlier. She may not have realized that she knew the victim or the victims family. I am sure she didn't want to do anything that would risk screwing up the case. Andy will get a fair shot at clearing his name, but it sure sounds like he has a lot of evidence against him - and trying to kick a$$ on 6 cops and kicking that SUV and damaging it didn't help his case any.
