The game I saw showed two Husker defenses. The amazing one that stuffed one of the most potent running offenses in the country and the one that could not stop a mediocre QB from completing any pass he wanted. Say what you want about not being able to make chicken salad out of chicksh#t, the defensive scheme was there for the world to see. Stoops saw the flaw, and exploited it all night long, with the exception of the two 3 and outs inside the 5 yard line. Perhaps the scheme is limited by the ability of the defensive secondary. But geez o' pete' when one thscheme isn't working, try something else.
As for offense, well, the only thing you can say is close but no cigar. ZT and his receivers just werenn't firing on all cylnders. They had their opportunities. Both of the 2nd half INTs would have been touchdowns.
When you discover a weakness and bust off thirty or forty yard runs, don't go back to the middle and don't totally abandon the run.
Oh well, nothing left to do but keep drinking Jack and Cokle watching the Huskers. Props to all who foresaw the OU victory. I think NU could have won it, but......
Oh hell, pass the Jack.............. :bonez
