Any Helmet wearers out there?

I've been thinking of either getting my Vulcan fixed up or buying another Motorcycle..

If Gas goes to $7/gal I might just have to ride my bicycle the 32 miles to work..

Any of you ever wear a helmet?

I gave up riding soon after Nebraska got a helmet law and haven't tried wearing one on my bicycle...And ever since I became a father, almost always try not to make fun of people that do wear them.

I've been looking for a plain white helmet that I can slap on a big red "N" on the sides to show off to all the Sundevils, Buckeyes, Wildcats, and the occaisional Wolverine fans on the freeways out here in Phoenix just how much I love my team..Plus maybe help find a cute Nebraska girl that has similar values and get her to notice me.. :clap

I saw this cool looking Chinese Fighter pilot helmet on Ebay but not sure if the "N" decal would fit..(Might have to make my own out of some red electrical tape. <_<

Then when I was looking at a d!(k's Sporting goods site I saw this..

Does anybody know if these things whistle (From the wind over the holes) when you go more than the speed limit?

If you get the fighter helmet I might actually drive down to Phoenix just to make fun of your while you ride down the road. The other helmet is much better IMO and I'm sure your going to get some wind noise.

The fighter helmet it is, then..

Now that I look at it..The Bike Helmet's "N" looks like it's too big and sorta reminds me of my Brother's hockey helmet that he got for sky diving...And I ended up using for safe sex.

Not sure I like the polka dot look, but I enjoyed your site..Interesting all the different helmet laws out there. And the discussion on how meaningless DOT stickers really are. (Manufacturers can put them on their helmets until they fail a random test that likely won't even get tested).

And about the dangers of wearing something heavy on your head (Especially children).

If I thought I was going to crash, I wouldn't ride with or without a helmet. (Although I did crash 20 years ago while racing and wearing only shorts and my basketball shoes).

I'd been thinking about getting my Son a helmet so he could ride on the back, but now I'm not so sure.

I don't mean to turn this into a Helmet law debate, but I'd be much more likely to wear one if it was my choice.
