Any opinions on Hybrid clubs?

I am thinking about replacing my long irons. My oldness & fatness is catching up to me.

Also should I replace down to the 5iron?

I was slow to go to a hybrid club but once I got one I absolutely love it. I have a #3 and #4 hybrid now and use them both frequently.

I would definitely get a 3 and a 4. 5 probably wouldn't be bad either but I've never hit one.

I have replaced my 2, 3, 4, & 5 irons with hybreds. Best thing I ever did.

Yeah probably down to a 5. Hell I'm a young dude who can crush it pretty good and I want to replace my 4

Hybrids are for pussies!
Says the guy with a 2-iron and a 20+ handicap.
You mean the guy with a 4 handicap and can hit a 2 iron 260? Then yeah that's me!
BTW- I actually do carry a 4hybrid Cleveland mashie. Got it for a gift. Like the club. Just don't use need it at my course.

netwarriors even in golf :D

Hybrids definitely help your game when your swing speed decreases. imo

I use a 2 and 3 hybrid. Go figure I still use a 9 driver but that will change when I switch out these stiffie shafts for regular shafts. 10.5 baby

I carry a hybrid to replace my 3 iron. That is pretty common at professional and amateur level alike.

I could probably play a 4 hybrid but like the more boring flight of a nice 4 iron.

Depending on skill level and swing speed, I would probably replace your 3 iron for sure, probably 4 iron, and maaaaaybe 5 iron.

This is all leading up to the first annual HB golf tourney, don't ya think?
That would be something I would definitely be interested in. Have to sign up with board names though.

As for hybrids I have been considering switching my 4 iron for a couple years. Not sure what the benefit would be though as there aren't many courses I play that force me to hit long irons for 2nd shots.
