Any Railroad Geeks Out in Husker Nation?

I almost shat watching the vid. Could you get closer next time. :)

Must have sounded pretty cool compared to the engines now.

GBR

In the day we put pennys on the track and worried it would derail the train.

 Sorry, didn't mean to make you nearly soil yourself.

I stayed pretty focused on holding the camera still, so I didn'tt peel my eyes off to watch the driving wheels.

Hadn't seen that beast since '89. That whistle rocks! It's the best one - even better than the Challenger.

Thanks, too, BRIowan. Glad you liked it.

Cool video. Do you do this often?
Kid: Thanks... I try to catch special trains such as this as they come through town. Not often a steam loco makes it in. The 844 has been touring harder than the Stones this summer, though.

I've heard all 6 of the new UP Heritage Road diesels will be in Omaha. Don't know when- I'm guessing Spetember for the River City Round-Up.

These are diesels painted in colors inspired by older railroads now part of the UP. Western Pacific, Rio Grande, KATY (Missouri Kansas Texas), Southern Pacific, Missouri Pacific, and Chicago & North Western are all represented by different units. Cool paint jobs. All designed by Bailey Lauerman, an ad firm based in Licoln, with a branch in Omaha.

Check out the Western Pacific unit here posing with the UP Challenger 3985 (not my photo):

My cousin is one of the higher ups for UP. I can see if he has the info for when they come to town.

my grandfather worked for the PRR, anyone got anything on it.
NumeroUno: Do you mean the Pennsylvania RR? I like their electrical units - the GG1s. Very classy.
