Any truth to the rumour on

Walk-on
Fox Sports radio that Nebraska is talking to some guy named Bohl about taking over the football program? I live in Ohio, but follow the huskers and heard this late last night on Fox Sports Radio. I don't know much about the guy, but they said he has ties to Osborne and roots in Nebraska.

no truth to that one at all

Okay it's also on college football news website today. Bohl is the coach at N. Dakota and was on the Nebraska staff from 1995-2002, and he also played at Nebraska and grew up in Lincoln.

They should look into him for a coordinator position if they are not going to look at him for HC. He is doing a phenomenal job at NDSU..they just beat the lowly Gophers this weekend. What a game...NDSU has not been in D-1AA for very long and they beat a Little 11 school...

Obviously you guys are a little young. Remember the CU blowout in 2001 ? Craig Bohl was run out of town as DC and was replaced by Bo Pelini.

Like I said earlier, I am not in Nebraska, but in Ohio, so I am not familiar with all that is happening in Lincoln. I would liek to see the huskers take a chance on a hungry young guy such as Brian kelly as UC, or Major Applewhite OC at Bama. I think the Huskers program is a huge mess, and it'sgoing to take someone whom is hungry for success to turn the ship around. Look at Ohio State, when Cooper got canned they hired a coach from a Div 1AA school (YSU) in Tressel, and he righted the ship.

I remember Craig Bohl's disaster here all to well. What was one of the main reason Chris Brown and the Buffs ran all over us? Oh yeah we couldn't tackle.

I saw in another thread that folks were hoping for either Paul Johnson, Or Turner Gill to be hired as the new Husker HC, and I really think both would be bad hires. I think Johnson is another Solich, whereas we know he will crank out the yards on the ground, but his Navy teams rarely if ever can pass the ball. I watched them play Wake Forest this past weekend, and when Wake got up late in the 3rd quarter, and Navy had to pass they were done. I have watched two Buffalo games this year, one in person and one on tv, and Gill has done an amazing job turning around a team that has been the worst in the MAC for years. It's one thing to turn around a buffal oprogram where there are very low expectations and to turn around a large program like Nebraska.

I just hope that TO has realized that a nice guy who runs runs runs the ball (solich) isn't what the program needs. He hand-picked solich and that wasn't the best thing in the world.

That would have to be the second biggest mistake T.O. could make if he hired him as head coach. The first would be keeping Callahan.

Didn't Craig Bohl start this quagmire we're in against the Buffs in 2001 which then carried over to 2002? Yeah I don't want him back in any capacity at the moment. :)

If TO is not ready to get rid of Callahan yet (because he does not have a replacement lined up), then maybe he should force Callahan to get rid of Cosgrove, and ask Charlie McBride to come out of retirement to finish out the season as DC. A replacement DC could be found after Callahan's replacement has been brought in.

Actually guys, Bohl has turned out to be a much better head coach than coordinator. Some guys are that way. If you make them a HC they do a very good job of letting the coordinators do their jobs and putting it all together. Some, like Bohl, struggle in the role of coordinator. Square peg-round hole theory. That being said, if we hire Craig Bohl as HC I would probably jump off a building.
