Any truth to the rumour on

Actually guys, Bohl has turned out to be a much better head coach than coordinator. Some guys are that way. If you make them a HC they do a very good job of letting the coordinators do their jobs and putting it all together. Some, like Bohl, struggle in the role of coordinator. Square peg-round hole theory. That being said, if we hire Craig Bohl as HC I would probably jump off a building.

This is true...but there's that uneasy feeling I have and perhaps other's have about hiring him back. Once you've been burned by someone it's not easy trusting that person won't burn you again. :)

Fox Sports radio that Nebraska is talking to some guy named Bohl about taking over the football program? I live in Ohio, but follow the huskers and heard this late last night on Fox Sports Radio. I don't know much about the guy, but they said he has ties to Osborne and roots in Nebraska.

Obviously you guys are a little young. Remember the CU blowout in 2001 ? Craig Bohl was run out of town as DC and was replaced by Bo Pelini.

Let's hope for the programs sake this isn't true. I wasn;t a big fan of him when he was here. :grr

Wow, you guys make good bait. Fell for it hook, line, and sinker. This is just another bogus thread started to get everyone's dander up.

So, the same can be said with Turner Gill. Neither one of them will be HC or is even being looked at by NU right now. There would be a mutiny if Bohl was named HC at NU. TO knows what he's doing. There's a reason these guys names aren't mentioned much in the rumor mill because they both suck.

yeah, craig bohl is a bad choice.

Junior,

Just for your info, I don't start threads just to get people to chat. In reality this was a story on a few news outlets that more than likely picked up steam when NDST beat Minnesota. I couldn't recall Bohl, but now that my memory was refreshed I do recall his terrible defenses. As I stated, I hope the Huskers hire Bo, Brian Kelly, or Major Applewhite to lead the team next year.

I heard the same thing, so I believe you. I remember Bohl pretty well so the news threads went in one ear and out the other.

I totally forgot he was here for the debacle against sCUm!!! However, he has done a VERY good job at NDSU...not saying he would strive here. I think NDSU could take it to us right now anyways!!!!

Do you suppose his experience as an assistant and coordinator at Nebraska prepared him to do well at a lower-level school but might not translate to success in a bigger job at the top level?

These are different worlds, and the fans would give Craig Bohl ZERO grace period.

I don't think Gill is the guy, either. A little success at a little program doesn't mean he's ready for the biggest stage.

The guy at Appalachian State would be one of the few D2 coaches who might be. He's won and won and won, in championship games with tough travel skeds and at Michigan.

I trust Osborne to learn from his Solich mistake and make a hire that just adds to his legacy.

Touchdown Tommie is probably right on the fact that NDSU might be a better team than the Huskers right now. Scary isn't it?

I have followed Coach Bohl before and after he was at Nebraska and he is doing a great job at NDSU which is a school in it's last year of transition from D2 to FCA (aka IAA) and restored that program to prominent stature that it held through much of the last couple decades.

Bohl has made a better head coach than a coordinator and has really grown as a coach. He will no doubt be a name that is talked about as the next Husker coach but I really doubt that he will be the one hired. Keep an eye on him though, he is definitely going to get some good offers as a result of his work at NDSU and his former association at Nebraska.

He may be a better candidate for Nebraska a number of years down the road.

SUPERBUNNY
